Weekend Results Cronulla vs Macarthur

January 25 @ 8:00 am - January 31 @ 11:30 pm

In what we knew was always going to be a tough weekend with our experience in Lismore with Blue Sox, and a large number of players unavailable due to the holiday weekend, all teams toughed it out and even doubled up as necessary.

First Grade  Cronulla 1 lost to Macarthur 5

Fielding a very young and inexperienced side, we battled away and were only outhit by Macarthur 7 hits to our 6. Unfortunately some errors didnt help, and we were always playing catch up baseball. The highlight of the day must however go to Darcy Edwards who put one over the fence for a solo home run in the ninth - very well deserved Darcy !

Two hits to Brad Griffin and our pitchers toiled in heat with Alex Brook throwing 4 innings for 3K's, and Brett Elliot again throwing really well with 5 innings and 4K's.

Hopefully we can get back to full strength soon but with a very busy ABF schedule games may still continue to clash

Second Grade  Cronulla 2 lost to Macarthur 13

Second grade felt the pinch with players away and also some playing up and were outclassed by Macarthur. They got behind early giving up 7 runs in the first and then had to battle which they did for the next 6 innings. Highlights were two hits to Col Smith, with Travis Xuereb throwing three innings and Lachlan Regan also throwing three innings. They will need to win a few more to stay in contention for the final series.

Third Grade   Cronulla 2 defeated Macarthur 1

A strong tough win for the Sharks against a side higher on the table today running out winners in a close fought contest. In all, Cronulla had 7 hits, and no errors. RBI's went to Haydn Parker and Joel Peeters with one each. QUB's Connor Keen with 4, and Haydn Parker with 3.

Highlight however was a brilliant pitching performance from Brandan  (Media Man) Johnson who threw the complete game of 7 innings with a total of 8 K's. Can also be in contention for the finals if they believe in themselves and repeat the effort in this game.

Under 18  Cronulla  4  lost to Macarthur  7

Again with players away, they fought hard against the undefeated League leaders. Hits went to Jake Quinlivan with 3, Walks to Brad Griffin 2, and QAB to Ethan Morgan with 2.

Three pitching innings to Daniel Cummings, and two to Brendan Regan (with 2K's). Keep improving in attitude and in training and wins will come

Second Division Women's

A  9 - 0 win to Cronulla has them sitting third on the table and fighting hard for that finals berth.
