The finals series have been severely impacted by the weather but we can advise the following.
Second Grade Men - last night played Manly at Aquatic, after the game had been washed out at BOP over the weekend. In a game curtailed at the end of the seventh innings due to light curfew, the game was all tied up at 3 all. We had several chances with players on base to get that all important lead, however had to be satisfied that we were able to restrict Manly in the bottom of 7th , to leave the game delicately poised at 3 all. Advice is that we will need to play again tonight in order to get that all important place in the grand final next weekend. At this stage, we have no further details on the venue etc for the game
Second Division Women - Another game curtailed by weather, when on Friday night the game was called in the bottom of the fourth when Cronulla was leading by 9 runs due to the electrical storm. Five completed innings are required to constitute a game, so off to last night at Laybutt Reserve and this time the game was won - by Cronulla 27 runs to 22 against Blacktown. The girls now play in the grand final at BISP1 on Friday night March 19th at 7.30pm against Western Sydney Boomers which will be a tough game but we know our girls are ready to tough it out.
